Results of surgical treatment on short-length bulbous urethral strictures

Introduction. Urethral stricture disease is one of the most actual problems modern urology, and number this pathology in population increases year to year. To date, a large surgical methods for treating urethral strictures have been proposed. This study represents our experience treatment short-length bulbous strictures. Purpose study. analyze results patients with Materials methods. A retrospective analysis 75 was carried out. Treatment out using various techniques: internal optical urethrotomy (IOUT), anastomotic plasty, plasty without crossing spongy body. The effectiveness applied assessed.  standard questionnaire I-PSS (International Prostate Symptom Score) used assess quality life all cases, which filled before surgery 6 months after surgery. Results. easiest fastest perform IOUT technique, but it has high percentage relapses — up 76,47% follow-up. However, recurrences when performing open techniques, such as plastic body, surgery, did not exceed 7.14% 7.4%, respectively.
